F-1 Visa

The F-1 Visa allows you to enter the United States as a full-time student. If you want to study in BEI’s Intensive English Programs, you will need the F-1 visa to travel to Houston.

 

BEI is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students in our Intensive English Programs.

Financial Sponsor? – Submit Sponsorship Letter or Form I-134 (US bank accounts)

  1. International Student Enrollment Agreement
  2. $150 Registration Fee
  3. Collect your I-20 from BEI within 5 business days

*I-20 packet can be emailed for free or shipped to your country via DHL – $150 fee

  1. Pay the I-901 FMJ fee at fmjfee.com $350 fee
  2. Schedule your Visa Interview with DS-160 Non-immigrant visa application – $160 fee
  3. Interview for Your F-1 Visa (Fingers Crossed!)

Prepare Your Documents

  1. Passport Biographic Page
  2. Copy of your I-20s
  3. Copy of your I-94
  4. Copy of your F-1 Visa or I-797 Approval Notice (COS)
  5. Bank Statements with Current Balance
  6. BEI Transfer Form completed by current advisor

Dependents? – We need their Passport Bio Page, too.

Financial Sponsor? – Submit Sponsorship Letter or Form I-134 (US bank accounts)

  1. Complete top portion of BEI Transfer Form before sending to your current advisor
  2. International Student Enrollment Agreement
  3. $150 Registration Fee

  1. Collect your New I-20
  2. Take the Placement Exam

  3. $500 Filing Assistance Fee

  1. Go to your biometrics appointment.
  2. USCIS will notify you of your approval by mail.
  3. Register for class
  4. Take the Placement Exam

Reinstatement

Ways to be Reinstated

  1. Request USCIS to Reinstate your Student Record.
  2. Leave the US and re-enter using a new I-20 with a new SEVIS number.

Meet with an advisor to determine which reinstatement method is best for you
